An unforgettable performance brought up to life by the class of 2025
On July 18th, 1899, a group of newsboys in Queens tipped over a newspaper distribution wagon and refused to sell The New York World and The Journal. The largest child-led strike in history had just begun! Thousands of child laborers joined the strike, demanding better treatment from the news tycoons. Their success in reaching a better agreement reverberates through labor history.
